Our Bison are raised on 10,000 acres along the Great Plains, short grass prairie. Bison are ecosystem engineers, and as they forage, their weight and constant eating prune the grasslands. This lengthens the growing season, and Bison as a keystone species allows the ecosystem to thrive. We use the nose to tail every time we process a bison, and we are forever grateful to them for their nutrient dense, delicious meat.

My grandfather, Floyd Johnson, started his bison & cattle ranch in 1989, back in his hometown of Shadehill, South Dakota. He unfortunately passed in 2017; however, his son, Blair, and his kids have carried on his incredible legacy by raising the bison regeneratively and holistically.
Our bison roam freely across 10,000 acres of native grasslands, where they’re grass-fed, grass-finished, and holistically raised to restore soil health and support thriving ecosystems. Every animal is part of our commitment to regenerative ranching — producing nutrient-rich, sustainable meat the way nature intended.
